This module gives an
introduction to engineering and the engineering design process as it relates to
agriculture. Students will come to
appreciate the various branches of the discipline and the kinds of problems
that agricultural/biological engineering formulate solutions for. The module will consider these issues
primarily from the traditional agricultural perspective as well as from the
broader perspective of biological systems.
Topics learnt in the classrooms setting will be reinforced by exposure
to local examples. Students will also learn to appreciate
professional and ethical issues unique to the discipline.
